in Tokyo have vanished like the other traditional urban house types in any
other Asian cities. Nezu 2 Chome, Bunkyo-Ku, is one of the
traditional Machiya districts in Tokyo. Even in Nezu, it is
not easy to find the original Machiyas, since Machiyas there are also
being dilapidated and changed for practical reasons. Consequently, the
typical scene of the alleys, being flanked by Machiyas, with human scale
and harmonious soft mood, changes, too.
