A T A

ATA (Asian Tradition in Architecture) was organized  in 1996 at the department of architecture, Hannam University, by Professor Pilwon Han, Ph.D. ATA features the research, planning and design activities carried out with the goal of 'Asian tradition interpreted for the design of the present world.' ATA, questioning to draw impervious lines between tradition and the present, Asia and West, and research and practice, tries to contribute to making 'good places for life' with diverse approaches. Its research focuses primarily on the traditional dwellings and settlements, and historic cities of East Asia. ATA also promotes planning and design projects in the fields of architecture, urbanism and cultural heritage using the concepts and methods investigated by its research.
You can critically view the activities of ATA here on ATA Website. You are especially invited to explore the slide library with its 30,000+ slides of Asian architecture, collected by ATA team members through extensive tours of East Asia. We hope that through ATA Website, you can discover more about Asian Tradition in Architecture.
