Emukai's House

About the house  Emukai's House is a typical Gatsho Zukuri(steep-roof) style house with a typical Tanozi type plan. It was built 260 years ago in Toyama Prefecture. The sharply inclined roof was necessary to bear the weight of heavy snow of the region. And the space beneath the steep roof was usually used for rearing silkworms.
