About the village Bosam
is a small village with 11
houses (as of Feb 1986), and is located
at a mountain area, Joil-ri, Sammam-myeon, Wulju-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do province. Its
location is so isolated that it could sustain its original villagescape for a long time,
even though it deteriorates rapidly recently. The old houses of the village have the reed
roof, with a steep slope, which is rarely used in Korean houses. It is already almost
impossible to find such an archetypal settlement as Bosam in Korea. A Korean movie, Pong
(Mulberry), directed by Lee
Duyong was filmed on this village. |
